About CCNU


Central China Normal University (CCNU) is located in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province. Founded in 1903, it is a prestigious comprehensive university under the administration of the Chinese Ministry of Education. CCNU is also one of the top Normal Universities in China and it is on the list of the “ Chinese National 211 Priority Project”.

With a campus on Guizi Hill bordering the South Lake in Wuhan, CCNU consists of 25 schools. With over 60 research centers and offering 75 bachelor´s programs, 184 master´s programs and 94 doctoral programs. The university has a student body of over 32000, among which 11000 are postgraduates.

Central China Normal University is one of the first Chinese universities to receive international students and has been appointed by the central government to receive international students on Chinese Government Scholarship. Besides, CCNU is among the first state-level “Chinese Language Teaching Bases”, ratified by the State Council. The university has a wide range of academic and scientific cooperation with more than 100 universities in 70 countries, such as America, Japan, France, Australia, etc.

2. Students cannot register without health insurance.

3. The accommodation fee does not include water, electricity, internet cost.

4. Students living outside the campus must inform the International Students´ Affairs Office.

5. Students of Wollongong Joint Institute can choose to study at University of Wollongong, Australia for a semester. Please contact the institute for details about tuition and fees.

RemarkIn case of where the original documents are not in Chinese or English language,

Scholarship

1. Chinese Government Scholarship — Postgraduate Study Program

Eligibility: applicant for Master and Doctorate degree

Scholarship: covers tuition, living allowance, accommodation and health insurance.

Living allowance: 3000 RMB/month for Master students and 3500 RMB for Doctorate students.

2. Sino-American Cultural Exchange Scholarship

Eligibility: American applicant for Bachelor, Master and Doctorate

Scholarship: covers tuition, living allowance, accommodation and health insurance.

Living allowance: 2500 RMB/month for Bachelor students, 3000 RMB/month for Master students and 3500 RMB for Doctorate students.

3. Confucius Institute Scholarship


Eligibility: applicant for Chinese Language study for one semester; Chinese Language study for one year; Bachelor in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages ; Master in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages;

Scholarship: covers tuition, living allowance, accommodation and health insurance.

Living allowance: 3000 RMB/month for Master and 2500 RMB/month for other students.

4. CCNU Scholarship for Excellent New Students

Eligibility: 5 for Doctorate candidates; 20 for Master candidates; 75 for Bachelor candidates

Scholarship: covers full tuition for 5 students, half of the tuition for 20 students and offers 2000 to 8000 RMB to the others.


NOTE:

1. The application for Chinese Government Scholarship and Sino-American Cultural Exchange Scholarship is from March to April every year.

2. The application for Confucius Institute Scholarship (degree program) is from March to June. For non-degree language programs, the recruitment is open from March to June and from September to December.

3. The application for scholarship 4 is from May to June.

4. All the scholarships are for the incoming students and the result will be announced in July.

Important notice:

1. Our school welcomes international students to apply for our school, and reminds all students to abide by Chinese laws and respect Chinese customs during their school days;

2. The school respects the religious freedom of the students, but the school does not provide places for religious activities. Students are not allowed to gather religious activities on campus, nor are they allowed to wear clothing with obvious religious styles;

3. All students are required to apply for an X visa with the Admission Notice and Form JW202. All fees will not be refunded after 2 weeks of registration.

4. Students should not conceal their past medical history when they apply for the examination. If the admission medical examination finds that they have infectious diseases, the school will not apply for registration.
